About
An Indian teenage girl (18), who has a younger autistic brother (13), blogs sharing her experiences, stories, views and opinions on autism, society, and the need for change in the perception, and acceptance of children with special needs, especially in India.
Her mission: To make India a more friendly and accepting community towards children with autism and other special needs. It is time that people became more aware, and open minded, in regard with understanding how some kids are differently wired than others. Someday she wishes to set up support centers for siblings of autistic kids, as she herself did not have much assistance in this matter (except her parents). Her ultimate goal is to create learning centers for children with special needs, where even parents of these kids can be trained and counseled to help them, help their child.
As an art student, she feels art is a powerful tool to aid these children in expressing themselves. She strongly believes that it can also be used as a very effective teaching strategy as well. In her opinion, through art, many concepts and theories can be easily comprehended by children. Through her entire life, she hopes to learn more about children with special needs, and keep reinventing methods through which their lives can be enriched…
